A Healthy Heart Sounds Better Than Ever

Although Omega-3 fatty acids have been known as essential to normal growth and health since the 1930s, awareness of their health benefits has dramatically increased in the past few years. The heart-health benefits of the long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids — DHA and EPA Omega-3 — are the best known. These benefits were discovered in the 1970s by researchers studying the Greenland Eskimos. At the best of times athletes struggle to win the support from government and sponsors even when they are representing their country on an international level. In these economically depressed times, funds from government can be – and in the case of bodybuilding, are – none existent. To compete at international events such as the CAC Games, which take place in Grenada later this month, financial support is crucial if The Bahamas is to be represented on the world platform.

In order to enable him to participate at the CAC Games and other international events over the next year, James Darling - aka Mr. Bahamas Bodybuilding 2009 - secured support from two leading US based nutrition brands. BTVI Receives Support of Local Business

Bahamas Supply Agencies, one of the longest established wholesale distributors in The Bahamas, donated a range of products to the BTVI as part of their support of education & training in the community. The donation included hair care products from leading companies such as Ampro and Queen Helene. Ms. Taylor, the supervisor for cosmetology training at the BTVI, commented “We really appreciate the donation” and added that “they would definitely be able to make use of them in their training programs.”
